PROTOTYPE JOURNEYS and Results

At the end of the journeys, team members and their envoys gathered online with the larger Model Mars community to present their findings and to hear from two special guests, astronaut Soyeon Yi and UNESCO’s Mark West.

A great chance to interact with like-minded people globally; meet astronauts, education experts, space enthusiasts.

Prototype teams created unique artifacts to represent their experiences and to create the first Mars Planetary Museum. Each team has an exhibit in the Museum where you can learn more.

Using teamwork to end up with an artifact is a lot cooler than you thought something could be before you did Model Mars.

Prototype teams worked within a truncated timeline to complete their journeys; all succeeded and were awarded the first Model Mars commendations. Moreover, prototype team members and envoys are part of the growing Model Mars community, and will continue working with participants on future journeys.

Model Mars is a worthwhile journey of exploration and discovery. The program encourages the use of imagination through art and storytelling in science and brings passionate youths to take on new challenges together.
